Ever since I was a boy I have been inspired by the use of the camera as a tool for recording and capturing images which you can ‘playback’ at any time to remind you of your mood and circumstances which existed at the moment the picture was captured. From the earliest film cameras to their modern mirrorless cousins I have captured thousands of images representing a huge and diverse range of subjects. It is, however, only of recent years, that I have been blessed with the opportunity to capture wildlife in some fantastic destinations and finally achieve my potential.
My early exploits with wildlife photography weren’t memorable. I wanted to capture the essence of the subject and try to make a connection which would show through in the images. These last few years have seen both the opportunity and the equipment to now bring these images to life. I see unrivalled beauty in the animal kingdom and it gives me such pleasure to connect with it and convey my experiences to others.
It is the detail in the subject, whether it be fur or feathers, and its demeanor that creates its character. It is this ‘essence’ which I try to capture in my photography. I hope that the images on this website invoke the same pleasure as that which it took to capture them and that they can help you share my passion for the natural world.
